Galbiati Group has been collaborating for several years with an internationally recognized leading company, providing third-party mechanical machining, in particular, milling of large components intended for the ceramic industry.
The core business of our customer is mainly the design of machines and systems for the ceramics, packaging, logistics and electronics industries, obtaining over the years, hundreds of patents for new products entered in the global market.
Galbiati Group has developed an excellent business partnership with the end customer, offering a high level of experience in the mechanical precision machining of components of these plants, such as ribs i.e. plates (for example 3450 mm x 3000 mm with thickness of 100 mm), pistons and cylinders (for example 2800 mm x 5961 mm with thickness of 60 mm).
Given the high demand for machining of ribs, pistons and cylinders, Galbiati in order to build customer loyalty, had to think in terms of optimization of the production cycle, through a careful and rational planning of the machining cycle (milling, chip removal , thermal or surface treatments, painting, dimensional checks, etc.) that has allowed to increase its productivity and competitiveness.
Optimizing the production cycle (for the machining of a large number of pistons, cylinders and ribs) set on our CNC machine tools, we were able to reduce production times, labour costs and increase the depreciation cost.
Example of a mechanical machining cycle performed on a piston, cylinder or rib:
- mechanical processing of the full steel (S690QL) block;
- milling;
- painting;
- dimensional check in our three-dimensional measuring machine ZEISS MMZ-G 30 60 25, which, placed in an air-conditioned chamber, is able to perform dimensional checks for applications requiring millesimal tolerances.
Galbiati Group, therefore, has once again distinguished itself for its flexibility towards the customer, to understand its needs and meet them fully, optimizing its machining cycle in such a way as to increase its productivity. and competitiveness, for the timely deliveries and for the supply of high quality parts, thus becoming an ideal partner for this type of mechanical machining.
An example of a plate during the machining step at Galbiati workshops is shown below.
