Galbiati Group has many years of experience in the design and construction of large-scale converter drives that are used in the steel industry.

We are specialized in the manufacturing of large-size converter drives.
Particularly, this bull gear is equipped with a toothed crown in NiCrMo steel, welded with a preheating and controlled cooling process on an electro-welded carbon steel structure. The straight toothing is 3,900 mm with module 20 and is induction hardened with a surface hardness of 50-55 HBn.

The photo shows a tilting converter drive unit of 350 tons with 4 engines and transmissible max. torque of 2,500,000 Nm (peack torque).
